We are so lucky to have Stoops as our coach, just hope we can keep him for a long time.
Kentucky is 3-1 going into October after winning only two games each of the last two years. Stoops was asked if the start — and UK’s narrow loss at Florida — had him thinking about a potential bowl game this year.
“No, no, no, I’m worried about — I’ve got family friends in it will town, worried about tomorrow and getting ready for next week,” Stoops said. ‘No, we’ve got to get some things fixed and that’s part of it. For our team to think that, you know, we had been playing good and moved the ball pretty well in The Swamp, and then come home and not play as good as we can, and it’s a perfect example for our team that things don’t go according to script all the time; you just gotta keep on working hard and getting better and our team is realizing that more.”
Every SEC East team also has at least one loss, something else that Stoops doesn’t pay attention to.
“If we go one game at a time and do good and prepare, give ourselves an opportunity to win the next game, then we’ll worry about the next game after that,” Stoops said. “That’s been our approach no matter who we’re playing. That’s it.”

That's about all they can do until we get more 4 and 5 star players. Right now we are living from one series to the next and when you commit turnovers it only makes the job tougher. I don't think we need to even be thinking about a bowl game unless we get a lot of luck down the road. From watching it yesterday in the stands, we just don't have a great rush on the quarterback yet. We did have some sacks and a couple losses of yardage but the majority of plays we couldn't get close to the QB.

BC, I was not at the game but watched on TV. The announcers kept stating how "Kentucky is bringing the house on 3rd down and Vandy's QB needs to get rid of the ball sooner."
I thought UK brought great pressure on Vandy's QB whenever they blitzed. Maybe not so much in a 4-man front without the blitz.

Stats are a awfully good barometer and the Vandy QB Wade Freebeck was only 8-25 with 3 interceptions, sacked 4 times and was credited with a minus 23 yards rushing. I would say that is a good sign that our pass rushers and line were doing their job. That said South Carolina is a whole new ball game.

Vandys offensive line was the same line that they had last year when they went to a bowl, game. I don't think they lost a starter off that line, if vandy had , had their regular qb, this would have been a lot tougher game than it was. imo

Yes in most cases we did get to him when the blitz was on but with the 4 man rush the Vandy line was holding us off. It was the QBs fault he didn't have more completions. He missed badly on a lot of his passes. We were lucky.
