OK NOW THAT TOWELS IS THE STARTER, WHAT WILL BARKER DO NEXT YEAR, I DO NOT THINK A 4 0R 5 STAR QB WILL JUST STAND ON SIDELINES, ANOTHER YEAR. ANY THOUGHTS?

I've been wondering the same thing myself, GB! Not sure if you can keep a highly rated QB happy standing on the sidelines!

REMEMBER SOUTH CAROLINA WANTED HIM BAD, AND THEY SURE COULD USE HIM. ITS A GOOD THING TO HAVE 2 QB'S OF THAT CALIBER BUT HE WILL HAVE USED HIS REDSHIRT, AND I KNOW TOWELS IS NOT GOING PRO.

Who is to say that Barker will not see the field next season? I still think the best QB on the team is being red shirted.

Experience, experience, experience. So what if the returning starter has more experience, you still have to perform. UK's starter didn't look like a world beater, against Mizzou. Sure he can rifle a ball on a rope at times. Touch and accuracy seems to be missing from his game. You have to hit guys in stride and have command of the pocket. Throw the ball where the receiver is going to be, not where he is.

I'm with Boom and if and when the coaching staff feels Barker is the best quarterback to run the team he will be that guy.

BOOM I AGREE WITH THIS!

He may win the starting spot in the spring. that would leave Towles to play the wildcat spot. With both in the game you could have the possibility to pass from either one, Towles could run it, or Barker could pass it to Towles. I know you don't normally see to QBs in the game but it might just make the defense work to figure out how to defend against it.

If Towles were to get beat at the QB spot, next season, TE is wide open for somebody with good hands.

Towels will be starting QB until he leaves. imo, cause hes stoops guy. plus it will be hard to beat him out with the experience he will have. And he is a pretty darn good qb.

I agree with Green-Bean on this one. It'll be hard for Towles to lose his spot.

Boom, who is the redshirt that you think is the best QB? I don't follow football that in-depth to know who has redshirted.

Paul,

Here are a few links.

The team is improving and will hopefully be able to win one or more of the last three. I am not claiming to be more knowledgeable than anyone else, regarding football, but I really do think that Barker has the "It" quality to be a star QB. Some players never have "It".

Yes, Barker doesn't have as strong an arm as Towles, but that isn't the only quality that makes a star QB. Barker has a pretty good arm, but I think he throws a more catchable ball than Towles. Putting the ball where the receiver could catch it is what made Tim Couch the first pick in the draft.

I do think that some of the basketball only fans and the show me your worth rooting for fans will jump on board. I can't blame them, because the program has been bad to mediocre for a long time. But, times are a changing. Six wins would be huge, making them bowl elligible and giving the Cats extra practice time.

Guys missou is no slouch, they may win the east
division. They had a horrible game against Georgia
and blew away. Towles didn't get much protection
or time to do much of anything.

The announcers stated a couple of times that
Towels would be playing on sundays.

I like Barker as well and think he is a great
ballplayer. But he's never taken a snap in college. Both could get playing time next season.

Eleem u are correct, and our offensive line is not really all that sec. good right now. imo Barker will have to wait his turn. all QB'S have to wait their turn.
