It seemed like the last thread was getting pretty long so THought I'd satart another one for today's games.
IU'm working today so will onlyget to check in on teh games but we've got 3 SEC teams playing today with Auburn kicking off at noon against Wisconsin then at 1 Missouri takes on Minnesota.
Should be a couple of decent games.

It was a pretty even first half but if I was a betting man I don't think we can hang with Wisconsin. They are a good team however if we do win it will show just how good the SEC talent is.

As a conference we are 4 and 3 in bowl games. Is it just me or does it not sound like all the announcers want to see the SEC teams lose. One ESPN announcer even made a comment to that effect. Everyone thinks that if they beat an SEC team this year that really elevates their status. I do think the SEC was way down in football this year as was shown by Ole Miss and Miss State, plus LSU losing like they did. The West was supposed to be our strong division but they have a worse won/loss record in bowl games than the East do. I too fear Ohio State will beat Bama. I am a Bama fan but just have not been that impressed with them and their offense or defense this season. At least we are leading right now in the Missouri/Minn game and the Auburn/Wisc game, hopefully they can get us a couple more wins today and if Bama can win tonight, that would make our confernec 7 and 3. When it comes to bowl games, the SEC becomes WE to me.

I just turned my laptop back on to eat my words! The last few minutes of the first half were devastating for the Tide, but not as much so as that interception just now! I really hate it that it looks like the SEC is going to be eliminated!

One last thing, then I'm going to bed. Green Bean, you said, "THEYS SOMETHING MISSING ON ALABAMA THOUGH CANT PUT MY FINGER ON IT." Well, I think I have put MY finger on it. Their quarterback is dumber than a coal bucket!
And now, before I was able to shut this thing down, OSU quarter back runs it right up the middle (AGAIN) 85 yards, for another TD. You can stick a fork in the Tide, because they are DONE! [ 01-02-2015, 12:25 AM: Message edited by: Old Norm ]

The SEC are embarrassing themselves in the bowl games this year. For Alabama to lose to Ohio State is not really a suprise, I have felt all year that Bama did not have a top notch quarterback and that they were not playing normal Bama defense. That certainly showed up in the Ohio State game. Bama gave up over 500 yards, that is unheard of for a Bama team. Saban will probably shake up his staff now that his season is over. I said Bama would go south when he hired Kiffin as his offensive coordinator, whether that had anything to do with the success of his offense is beyond my knowledge. I know Bama were always a run first type of team until Saban gave control to Kiffin and then they became a pass first type of team. No National Championship for the SEC this year. I hope Oregon kill Ohio State, can't stand Urban Meyers or Ohio State, or the big ten for that matter. Auburn is another team that don't know how to tackle, they let Wisconsin make them look like they had never been to tackling school. I see Auburn are bringing in Will Muschamp from Florida to be their defensive coordinator next season, maybe he can help their defense. The SEC west really stunk up the joint in the bowl games, LSU, Auburn, Bama and the two Mississippi schools all got waxed.
Bean, I too had the feeling Bama would lose to Ohio State, you nailed it my friend. For A Bama defense to give up over 200 yards to a running back is just unheard of. Look out defensive coordinator, Bama are probably already looking for your replacement. Saban needs to replace Kiffin and his defensive coordinator.
The only team from the West of the SEC to win so far is Texas A&M isn't it?????? The media are eating this up, loving every minute of these SEC football losses. [ 01-02-2015, 06:08 AM: Message edited by: SCWC ]

WELL PUT SCWC, AND SPOT ON .YOU ARE RIGHT IMO ON EVERYTHING YOU POSTED. OHIO ST. PLAYED THEIR 4TH STRING QB. THE WAY THE SEC LOOKS IN THESE BOWL GAMES, AND WE CANT WIN 6 GAMES DONT BODE WELL FOR US, WE LOST LAST 6 GAMES IN A ROW. WE BETTER GET HARISS. AND WHEN U GET A GOOD RUNNING BACK U GOT TO LET THEM RUN, THE RUNNING GAME WINS FOOTBALLGAMES. JMO

If you had said Lane Kiffen is dumber than a coal bucket instead of their quarterback, I would have agreed with you. Best thing that could happen to Bama is for Lane to move one. That was some of the most aweful play calling I have ever seen.

The dumbest thing I saw their quarterback do was, he kept getting trapped in the backfield. Then instead of getting out of the pocket (which he did) and throwing the ball away, he'd try to run it out. Everybody in the world could see that he couldn't make it, but he'd try it anyway, and get sacked EVERY time. Surely Kiffen didn't tell him to do that. I'm no Kiffen fan, by the way. He is worse at holding a job than my grandson-in-law!

GA Cat,
I agree. I never understood Saban bringing in Kiffin. Terrible play calling all game long in my mind.
Only winners in the SEC so far are Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina and two Big 12 Transplants Texas A&M and Missouri.
The SEC always separated itself because of the speed on defense, especially up front. That seems to be non-existent this year.
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

The Tenn win will give us a 6 and 5 won loss record conference wise with only one game to go between Florida and whomever they play. I see the Big Ten are 5 and 4 going into the Tenn game so they will no be 5 and 5 when this game ends.

Agree that the SEC wasn't as strong as I thought. I'm a huge Michigan fan too because I'm related to "Fielding H. Yost" that coached Michigan from 1901-1926. Also my brother-in-law lives in Ann Arbor and he takes me to the games. I just hope Harbaugh will eventually challenge OSU. I can't stand Urban Meyer, he is one of the biggest traitors ever lived. Quits Florida and blames medical problems and then OSU opens up and then says "Ok great I'll take this job lol". One last thing, If Michigan & Kentucky ever played in a bowl game...I would be a Wildats fan!!!

Two big plays for Florida to get the win. Harris threw an 86-yard scoring pass to m Ahmad Fulwood, and Hargreaves intercepted a pass in the end zone late to preserve Florida's 28-20 victory over East Carolina.
