New details have emerged out of the Richmond bar fight incident and it looks a little better for the three Kentucky players involved, namely Drew Barker. Barker is listed as the victim in an EKU crime report from the on-campus fight, while Patrick Graffree, a former defensive lineman at UK, is named as the subject of the assault.
LEX 18 spoke with a witness named in the police report:
“I was really afraid because I didn’t know what was gonna happen next because it was a big crowd of people,” that witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told LEX 18’s Josh Breslow over the phone on Thursday.
The witness said Barker was in the building with two guys and a female, when a bigger group came in behind them, surrounded Barker, and attacked following an argument.
That witness recounted what the group said to Barker, “‘Did you hit [Colton] Scurry in the party? Why are you here and Scurry’s in the hospital?’ And then Drew said, ‘I didn’t have anything to do with that. I don’t know what you guys are talking about. I didn’t hit anyone at a party’… Someone hit him really hard and he fell to the ground and, like, was in daze for a while and then his friend helped him up and then they all left.”[LEX 18]
As for what happened in the bar, video will easily solve that crime, but Jerzees is likely doing all it can to keep the footage under wraps to save its own tail from allowing underage students in the bar.
Also interesting to note: “Almost all of the information on the paperwork provided Wednesday was blacked out.”
