I really thought UK was better than Auburn, but this game proves once again how far we have to go to be competitive against the upper echelon (and AU is down this yeay) in the SEC.

How many times have we ask ourselves when A games over, what could have been? The wide receiver coach needs to buy some stickum for the receivers.

They did not play a complete game. Auburn had as much time as UK did to work things out.

Throwing that INT in the end zone broke the camels back. Momentum shifted to Auburn and Kentucky didn't get it back,, until it was too late.

As many home run throws that the QB makes, he misses on crucial short throws as well. Accuracy is not to be discounted, when it comes to the passing game. There will never be another Tim Couch in UK's lifetime. If you watch old games of Couch, he hits players chest high in stride and that is how Yeast made so many yards after the catch. It wasn't by having the receivers stop mid stride and reach 2 or 3 yards behind them to reel the ball in and then get clobbered.

It's easy to say we lost because we did and we have been doing that for years however this game we did play hard and actually won the second half by a score of 17-7. We played well the second half and were in this game to the final whistle which is something that we haven't been able to do that many times in the past.

Towles had another good game passing for 359 yards, 27-44 (61%). Boom ran the ball well for 113 yards so we did play well on offense which is a big improvement. Garrett Johnson also had a very good game receiving 160 yards of passing which is a heck of a stat. We did lose no doubt about that but we definitely are showing improvement and we are seeing some exciting football especially on offense. It is true it's a loss but I for one enjoy watching them play as they don't give up and we definitely are making progress. I know this too Auburn knew they were in a football game.

It's easy to complain when we lose even though we didn't know if Auburn won the game until the closing seconds. When our Cats play that hard for that long it's hard to complain to much at our players. They gave it their all and that is all that you can ask. It isn't going to get any easier as our schedule is going to get tougher and we will be playing more games on the road.

Hopefully we as fans stick with this team as they need all the support they can get. We have lost over 70 percent of our SEC games. This is a awful stat and one that this team is trying to turn around. Will they have another SEC losing season, probably so but as long as they play hard and do their best it's all you can ask. imo

CMD, believe me when I tell you I never give up on the Cats. I watch every game with the hope that they will win. In years past, an AU game would have been an automatic blowout. I still believe the Cats this year are better than AU, but they didn't make the plays that have to be made to win in the SEC. Towles is a great deep pass QB, but his inaccuracies on the short routes and his pre-snap dogged determination to throw it to a specific receiver are a continuing problem. The coaching staff assures us every week that those will get "cleaned up," but they are still here. Frustrating to say the least.

Perfect example was the interception. Towles had a receiver wide open directly in front of him, yet he tried to force it where he had already determined to throw it prior to the snap. Go Big Blue!!!

I know even less about college football than I do about college basketball. That being said, I was rather encouraged even if we did lose the game. I think that "maybe" the football program is actually heading in the right direction and I've been a doubter a long, long time.

The history of this team will be written in the final games. There is no reason this team shouldn't finish at least 7-5 and go to a bowl. If they fail to get a bowl then it's the coaches fault. This team is not great but if they play to their abilities we should go bowling.
