After losing four straight games and struggling offensively the last three games, many fans have been wondering what Kentucky's offensive identity is.
There doesn't seem to be a defined formula for UK's offense. However, take a look back at what coach Mark Stoops had to say before the Cats lost 27-3 at Georgia Saturday when he was asked about UK's offensive identity.
"We have to be able to run the ball and throw it off the actions. Because predictable pass in not where you want to live. Third and long is not where you want to live against the guys that are rushing against us and all the exotics and what you see with the Oline and everything else," Stoops said.
"You have to be able to create. That is the fine line that you run into as a play caller. What do you do, take a shot on first down? Well now you are second and 10. If you don’t get yards now you are third and long. That is not where we are very good at. We had the one good drive, when the game was on the line (against Tennessee), the 15-play drive, that is who we are. But being able to execute that time and time and time again is difficult.

THe offensive line is going to have to be able to open holes and maintain their blocks if we expect our running game to go anywhere!

We sure don't have the speed to run around the end and we have power runners that can break tackles.

Hopefully we will sign some good offensive linemen in our next recruiting class.

If I didn't drink the Kool aide it would be a long season and I don't have to many seasons left. I truly don't need the Cats to win all their games to enjoy watching them play as long as they play to win. [ 11-10-2015, 05:44 PM: Message edited by: catmandoo ]

What I don't like to see is when Kentucky basketball has so many great players and playing for a National Championship and start playing not to lose and slow it down instead of taking it to the basket. They have the better talent and should use that talent at the end of crucial games and they don't.

Hopefully Boom will be back in the line-up against Vandy.
