Quarterback Reese Phillips knew there might be some controversy when he decided to transfer from Kentucky just a few weeks after former starting quarterback Patrick Towles made the same decision.

“But at the end of the day, you just want to play and it is what it is,” said Phillips, who got his release from UK on Christmas Eve and his now weighing several options.

He intends to look only at FCS schools where he would be eligible immediately. He is considering Tennessee-Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Washington, James Madison, McNeese State, Montana and others. Phillips said he’s open to playing in a different part of the country and is weighing going to a school he knows he can start versus one where he might have to wait a year to start. Most importantly, he wants a school that can win after seeing UK go 12-24 in his three seasons at Kentucky.

That's why Towles transferred too, he just wants to play and he knew he wouldn't at Kentucky.

If they had got the job done, they'd have played. It's as simple as that. That's the way the Athletic Director should look at the coaches as well. Maybe I'm being to hard on them, but that's just the way I see it. When I was in the heat and A/C business, and I hired someone, if they didn't do what I wanted them to do, they worked one day.

I have always heard that women are the strongest of the sexes and it didn't take me long to figure out how true that is. [Wink]

She has better weapons. At this age that does not affect me, but she already had me well trained.
