Drew Barker’s role as Kentucky’s starting quarterback may not be as solid as he and many others believed one month ago. Not with the new visitor on campus today.
Stephen Johnson, the JUCO quarterback you’ve heard all about recently, is in Lexington today for his official visit to the University of Kentucky. Interest is very high between both sides and a commitment would not come as a surprise while Johnson is in town.
If he does, he becomes an automatic contender to challenge Barker for the starting job. I’ve talked to several people who have seen the California native play, and they not only expect him to challenge Barker, they like his chances to win the job.
I’m no scout, but he does look very impressive in his highlights on Hudl:
