On Friday, Landon Young was awarded a fifth star by 247 Sports, his ranking in the 2016 class vaulting all the way from 102nd to 12th. Today, Rivals followed suit, giving Young a fifth star and moving him up to 29th in the class. He’s now considered the third-best offensive lineman in the country behind Ole Miss commit Greg Little and Alabama commit Jonah Williams.

“Young has always looked the part of a five-star and he was easily the best offensive tackle on the West team at the U.S. Army All American Bowl,” Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell writes. “After the game itself and going back and reviewing everything, he was the best tackle for either team and that, along with that great frame, makes him a potentially elite left tackle in my book.”

Rivals.com’s Southeast Analyst Woody Wommack agreed.

“Young entered the five-star conversation after his senior season and earned the nod following an excellent week in San Antonio. The Kentucky commit has the look of a future NFL tackle and his upside combined with his consistent improvement throughout the process put him over the tip for five-star status.”

What really makes impressive is that he is a 5 star player. These 5 star players are far and few between at Kentucky.
