Ohio junior tight end Charles Reeves Jr. announced on Twitter today that he was decommitting from Kentucky and opening his recruitment. He had verbally committed to UK in October.

“After having a long talk with my family and coaches I’ve decided to decommit from the university of Kentucky,” Reeves posted on Twitter.

The 6-5, 240-pound Reeves had offers from Michigan and Wisconsin along with interest from Ohio State and West Virginia when he committed to UK.

He was a four-star recruit by Scout.com and a three-star player by 247 Sports and Rivals. He was ranked as one of the top 20 players in Ohio in his class.

That really hurts as Reeves a junior would have been a much needed help to our passing game.

Doesn't bother me if he chooses to go elsewhere. There will be others that will want to take his place. UK happens to have one of the most talented TEs in college football. It won't be a problem getting the next great TE, when they see his production, the next couple of seasons.

Not worried about that position. Defensive line is a different story. But, the D lineman that was suppose to enroll early and didn't was injured and probably wouldn't play next season anyway, so he wasn't that huge of a loss either. What if he never got back to being healthy? Remember when UK took that QB from Texas who was hurt coming in? He never could get back to his old form.

boom, If he had offers from schools like Michigan and Wisconsin you know he had to have talent. Who is this tight end that you speak so highly of? Sure like to know his name so we could watch his progress.

CJ Conrad is the most talented TE that UK has signed since Jacob Tamme. He was very under utilized last season even though he was a true freshman.

In the last 5 games last year Conrad caught 3 passes for a total of 16 yards.

In spite of his lack of utilization in last years offense, CJ Conrad was named the All SEC Freshman team and was named to Athlon Sports All American freshmen team.

He definitely has the talent to be something special.

We need a passer that can throw the ball and till we do it doesn't make much difference how good our receivers are.

Might add we need a offensive line to protect the passer long enough to get the receivers open too.
