The Rivals site for the Crimson Tide is reporting that Derrick Ansley is leaving UK to become the next secondary coach at Alabama.
The newly minted Kentucky football co-defensive coordinator, which included a $100,000 raise that bumped Ansley’s salary to $375,000 and retained him through June 30, 2019, wasn’t enough to keep the Crimson Tide at bay.
According to The Tuscaloosa News, Ansley will coach Alabama’s secondary as the new defensive assistant coach while first-year defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt will work with the inside linebackers.
Ansley, a native of Tallahasse, Ala, was a graduate assistant for the Crimson Tide when they won the title in 2011, and was part of Coach Mark Stoops original staff.
