Zy'Aire Hughes has seen his share of turnover on the Kentucky coaching staff.
So the Paducah (Ky.) McCracken County signee was probably relieved when the Cats hired someone he was already familiar with to be his position coach.
Neal Brown was Hughes' first recruiter from the Kentucky staff. He left, but fortunately for Hughes, John Schlarman more than picked up the slack.

All along he was preparing to play under receivers coach Tommy Mainord. But he's gone, too.
But Hughes can breathe easy once again, because he already knew Lamar Thomas from when he was at Louisville.
"I've been knowing Coach Thomas because I worked out at a Louisville camp with him my sophomore year," Hughes said. "He was my receivers coach. That's really the only thing I liked about Louisville -- Coach Thomas. I was really happy we picked him up.
"He was hilarious but he knew what he was talking about at the same time. Whenever he explained everything he was doing it in a funny way. I connected with him because I'm a funny dude, too," Hughes added.
Hughes never worked one-on-one with Mainord, so in that respect he's actually more familiar with Thomas.
