I hate to say it but I think we may have gotten lucky on the defensive pass interference play that led to the untimed play for the win. I never refereed a game in my life but IMO, that call could have gone either way at the very least. I think the football gods were on our side last night. The attached video of the play is not very clear but it was the best I could find.

Pass interference can be called on 80% of pass plays, just like holding can be called on 80% of the run plays. It is just up to the referee if he feels like throwing the flag.
But, I really don't like winning because of a penalty, especially one like this. I do love the fact that we put ourselves in the position to win, but it would have been so much sweeter if that last play had simply succeeded.

That play could have easily gone either way or just not called. It's usually not called that late in a game, especially against the home team. I'm not saying it wasn't PI, but was close both ways. Anyway, we've had our share of bad or non-calls, so the football gods owed us something!

As soon as they showed the reply I thought maybe Mizzou got the shaft. Looked like our guy just plowed right into the defensive back. I think we got a very generous break.

I actually thought it was clearly defensive pass interference because the DB never attempted to make a play on the ball, he just impeded the WR's path to the ball.
Now, I will also say that CJ Conrad, clearly pushed off to get open and Offensive Pass Interference should have been called on that play and it wans't.

Trey,
I initially thought the same thing until I watched it closer. The defender was actually holding CJ and he had to push him off to get separation.

EC I think you are talking about the TD play. They were talking about the final play before the clock ran out in the corner of the end zone. I also saw CJ push off on the TD play but it was probably before the pass was thrown. You can push and shove until the ball is in the air.
