Projected starters: Former U.S. Army All-American recruits Drake Jackson (6-foot-2, 312 pounds, junior), Landon Young (6-foot-7, 321 pounds, junior) and Darian Kinnard (6-foot-5, 325 pounds, sophomore) are projected to start at center, left tackle and right tackle, respectively, and 2020 NFL draft prospect Logan Stenberg (6-foot-6, 321 pounds, senior) returns at left guard. Young, the only five-star recruit on UK’s roster, missed all of last season with a torn ACL. Jackson and Stenberg were both named third-team preseason All-SEC by the league media. Add in new No. 1 right guard Luke Fortner (6-foot-6, 305 pounds, junior), who has played extensively as a backup the last two seasons, and Kentucky has quite the nucleus to build around up front.

Belfry native Austin Dotson (6-foot-6, 324 pounds, sophomore) played in seven games last season but mostly on the UK kick units. Tackle Nick Lewis (6-foot-9, 354 sophomore, redshirt freshman), guard Kenneth Horsey (6-foot-3, 321 pounds, redshirt freshman) and center Quinton Wilson (6-foot-1, 302 pounds, redshirt freshman) will look to earn a spot in the rotation for the first time after redshirt seasons. Walk-ons Matthew Napier (6-foot-6, 332 pounds, sophomore) and Tyler Couch (6-foot-1, 276 pounds, sophomore) should add depth.

This does look like a formidable front line on offense with some good spare parts. Now all they have to do is create holes for the runners and protect the passer.

Good Lord! All but one of them are over 300lbs. That is a lot of beef!

Landon Young went out with injury before the start of last season, and I was worried that Snell wouldn't have a good line. He ended up as Kentucky's all time rushing leader.

If the spring game is any indication of how the QB play will be, the offense should be more balanced and have more big play passing yardage, to go with a strong running game.

The passing game has to ramp up, because another Benny Snell is not coming around, any time soon.
