If Kentucky Wins:
They’ll be 45-45 under Mark Stoops.
It’ll be their 5th win in their last six games.
Their all-time record will be 624-627-44, only three games shy of 50-50.
They’ll improve to 15-28-1 against the Rebels, and snap a 1-game losing “streak.”
They’ll have won 2 of the past 3 contests against Ole Miss.
They’ll be 19-9 since the start of the historic 2018 season.
They’ll be 13-4 under QB Terry Wilson.
They’ll be out of the CBS Bottom 25 (how embarrassing!)
They’ll remain in the race for the SEC East
If Kentucky Loses:
They’ll remain in the CBS Bottom 25
Their SEC East chances will be very, very small
They’ll be under more pressure to win the home opener against the Mississippi State Bandwagon in Week 3 to avoid an 0-3 start.
They’ll be miles away from the AP Poll and be facing an uphill climb just to make a bowl.
Gains from winning: Big for season outlook, small for resume
Consequences from losing: Very bad. They can’t afford to start 0-2, 0-3, or 1-4.
Hardest-Opponent Scale: 7th hardest on schedule (Auburn was 4th hardest)
The pressure is definitely higher than it was last week, but Ole Miss gave up a fifty-burger to Florida and UK should be able to have their way offensively to cruise to 30+ points. What I’m worried about is if the game becomes a shootout and turnovers cost points late, but with the ‘Cats sturdy D-line, they should be able to take control early and send the road fans home midway through the 4th (gotta beat that traffic if you can’t beat the ‘Cats).
While Kentucky let a chance to make a statement against Auburn slip, they showed their talent level is exactly what we thought it was and that games like this are what they’re built for.

What's the definition of "good things"?
We're sitting with 4 more home games with MS ST, GA, Vandy and SC. WE are most likely going to get drubbed by the first 2. Maybe we beat Vandy and SC for a 2-3 record.
WE still play 4 games at TN, MO, AL and FL. We should beat MO but we lose to TN, AL and FL. for a 1-4 record on the road.
3-7 looks like the good thing we have to look forward to. I'd say the coaches were not prepared to see what we have seen in these first 2 losses. WE HAVE A VERY POOR PASS DEFENSE. IT MAY NOT GET GOOD ENOUGH TO HELP US WIN MORE THAN 3 GAMES WHILE THE RUNNING GAME IS TOP NOTCH RIGHT NOW.
All we can do is pray that the defense gets better.....SOON.
I'm really dreading going to work on Saturday but it will be with an attitude of OH well I figured we were going to get beat. Then if we do happen to win I'll have something to look forward to when I go back to the next home game against GA on the 24th. UGHHHHHH!

Going back to the Hal Mumme years, I don't worry too much about Mississippi State.
There are two reasons for that:
(1) A good, disruptive defense can take the spread offense out of its rhythm. Without that rhythm, a spread offense looks pretty ordinary.
(2) Our passing defense was only bad because we had to give up some coverage to keep an eye on the QB as a potential runner. If we are able to focus on a pass-first, pass-almost-always attack, our defensive front will wreak havoc in their backfield and our defense will look a lot better.
Maybe I am just too optimistic, but I saw a lot of good things in those first two games. We MUST play smarter and limit turnovers. Hitting key kicks would help too. I think we can beat MSU.
