OK, so we evened our record at TN by having one of the best defensive games ever. But will we be able to maintain that effort at MO? If we can win this game and manage to beat GA the following week we would be right back in the thick of the eastern SEC title hopes. Of course we would still have AL to play later. The odds are definitely against us to beat both GA and AL. All we can do is play them one at a time and let the chips fall where they may.

The good news is that I can approach both the Georgia and Alabama games with some hope of a win, and a reasonable assurance that we will not be embarrassed.

As to the next game, I think we should beat Mizzou fairly handily. As to our losses, I think the loss to Old Miss was not too bad -- they are legit this year. The loss to Auburn hurt... we could have won that one and be sitting at 3-1 right now.
Sure is different starting out playing SEC teams instead of tuning up against MAC teams. But we have established our defensive personality, and our offense is coming around as well. A run-first, pass when necessary offense matches our personnel. And defensively, teams are going to think twice about passing the ball against us. I hope we can tighten up the run defense!

I don't think there's any chance that we beat Bama,but I believe we beat Georgia. If we play like we've played the Last two weeks Missouri should be a win.

Bama’s receivers are elite. Not sure we contain them for 60 minutes. Their defense is not as good as usual, but they’re still solid. I don’t think we have much chance of beating them in Tuscaloosa, but I do think we can beat UGA at home. Go Big Blue!!!

Got to play it game by game, we 2-2 compared to Missouri who is 1-2 in conference play. We are playing good of late but in the SEC you can't take any game for granted.

MH, I think you nailed it. Their week off allowed them to prepare for our offensive blocking schemes -- we are totally ineffective in opening holes for our RBs. And it exposed our defensive weaknesses (they are going strictly man-to-man on receivers and stacking the box on run plays).
We need a few wrinkles in the playbook to get our running game going (or, equally good, an effective pass attack!). And I hope their O-line gets a little gassed, because so far they are KILLING us.

Not a fan of "quarterback controversies". We need to let Wilson take the team on his shoulders, win or lose.
Gatewood is very capable, but doesn't have that "x" factor. Had Wilson been in there for all the snaps, I think our offense would have come alive a lot earlier than the 4th quarter.
After 9 take-aways in two games, it is clear that our defense can't operate "straight up". We NEED to force turnovers. Mizzou played smart today, keeping it on the ground and making good passes. Plus they kept possession so long that our defense was gassed.
Really disappointed in this loss. Mizzou players acted like a bunch of kids out there, but the kids beat the stuffing out of us.

Gran made some of the dumbest decisions today. Why Rose is staring over Rodriguez is idiotic. Why did we choose to receive to start the game? So many bad decisions today, but the bottom line is we got our butts handed to us. Totally dominated by a mediocre team. Embarrassing!

...........and this season is just about history. It seems you can't win on just luck alone. Every dog has his day and it looks like we have had ours. Can we beat Vandy and SC for a 4 win season?? Looks definitely like a 4-6 season at best after all. I'm dreading going to Kroger Field next Saturday.

There seems to be something brewing with our players and coaches. Not only did Rose start over Rodriguez, but Smoke didn't play a single snap that I can recall. We swapped QBs not once, but twice. The option to receive indicated (to me) that maybe something was off on our defense personnel as well.

Yeah Smoke went out at the last game at Kroger Field. He might be back this coming game but don't count on it.
I only watched the first half and went out to do some yard work and didn't see the score until the 11:00 news. I had a bad feeling that the way MO beat LSU we were going to have a rough day.
So how do we win more than Vandy and maybe SC? I'm afraid this is going to be a Covid season.
