Sports Illustrated has put out their predictions for all the bowls and UK will get the Citrus Bowl instead of the Outback Bowl. Mich St would play Arkansas in the Outback and UK would play Ohio St in the Citrus Bowl. I'm afraid of that matchup. If we could beat Ohio St I feel it would be a miracle. What do you think?? Of course they have Cin losing to GAand Okla St losing to Mich in the playoffs and GA beating Mich in the final. Not so sure those will be the final 4 teams myself. CBS has the same 4 teams in the final but has UK playing Wisconcin in the Outback and Tex A&M playing Iowa in the Citrus.

247 sports has UK playing Iowa in the Citrus and Wisconsin playing Arkansas in the Outback. Same 4 in the finals. [ 11-28-2021, 09:39 PM: Message edited by: Bama Cat ]

ESPN has Alabama making the finals instead of Okla St. One guy also has UK playing Iowa in the Citrus Bowl and the other has them playing Wake Forest in the Gator Bowl New Years eve.

Athlon has UK in the Outback against Wisconsin. I'm guessing it will be the Outback against Wisconsin. Pretty even matchup as I see it.

Thanks for the review of the prognostications. I would love to be in either the Citrus or the Outback bowl, but my preference would be to play Wisconsin.
Although, a UK-OSU matchup would be a HUGE draw on TV. Hmmmmm.....

If it was OSU I guess you could say I couldn't lose. I left Ohio when I joined the Air force in 1960 and haven't lived there since. Of course I have lived in KY a lot more, 45 years. I don't really want to see them play each other. I too would like to see Wisconsin.

Playing Ohio State would be my last choice for a Bowl opponent for multiple reasons.
1. My son-in-law is a huge Buckeye fan. My grandson is in graduate school at UK and because of his father, also a Ohio State fan. He has now became a UK fan and has attended several games. Not sure who he would pull for but I suspect it would be the Wildcats.
2. By proxy, I became a half ass O.U. fan.
3. I believe this is a game that we would probably lose.
Whoever we play, I would love to see a win and tie for the second highest number of wins in a season for UK football.
Win or lose, I believe this is a team that UK fans should be proud of. [ 11-30-2021, 08:07 AM: Message edited by: handycat ]

When you get right down to it there are a lot of good, familiar names in the starting 22 players. There will be a lot of them gone next year and it will be hard to replace them. Congrats to all those starters who have provided a great season.

Looks like 247 had it right and one of the ESPN writers had it right also. I like the matchup and think we have a great chance to win it.

According to what I have been reading - Iowa has a great defense and a dismal offense. They thrive on "take aways" so if we can take care of the ball, we should win "going away".
Hope so!
